About

Being relatively new in the field of Digital Humanities, the aim of this segment of the website is to explore their possibilities. In the first place, this takes place within the context of the module ‘Conceptual Introduction to Digital Arts and Humanities,’ taught at University College Cork. Consequently, many of the posts found on this site reflect upon the articles that are being read as part of this module. But we will want to go further than this. Besides theoretical discussions, I will also aim to think about the possible digital tools applicable for my own work.

It is named ‘An enquiry into the uses and abuses of digital history.’ After all, I want to explore what the Digital Humanities mean for my activities in academe. But the aim is not only to discuss the available digital tools, I also want to discuss what these new developments means for the historical discipline and why we would conduct (digital) research at all.
